My big dog protects the entire neighborhood from animal predators like coyotes and hawks.

I live in a town that's called a farm town.

That's because right around the corner, there are farmers

who sell things like oranges and avocados, strawberries, and even honey.

Now, while that's great, we do have an issue with animal predators.

You see, coyotes and hawks like to swarm my neighborhood and target a lot of the cats and smaller animals …

Or I guess I should say that that was a problem, until my dog showed up.

You see, my dog is a 55-kilo American Akita, and he's a big dog.

He always barks if there's any coyotes near, always protects all the other animals in the neighborhood.

And all the neighbors are very grateful

whenever Genghis comes out and warns anybody to bring their dogs inside to protect them.

My parents live in an over-100-year-old house in the Black Forest in Germany.

It's the place where I grew up, and some people even call it the “summer capital of Europe,” Baden-Baden.

As far as I know, it's also very famous in Asia for its cultural events and thermal hot springs.

And if someone offered me to grow up in another city,

I wouldn't do it, not for the world, because it's such a unique place.

My family deliberately chose not to live in the city center, so our neighborhood is surrounded by the Black Forest.

Sometimes you can even encounter deers and wild animals when driving at night.

And since most areas of our city are labeled as pedestrian zones, we are never bothered with noise or traffic.

There is that tranquil atmosphere that surrounds our neighborhood,

where people are always dressed classy, drink coffee, enjoy themselves pretty much every day.

I live in a peaceful and quiet neighborhood, and I am yet to discover it further.

Recently I moved to a new neighborhood, and I'm still in the midst of discovering it further.

It's quite a residential area and it's very quiet and peaceful, which I really like.

And if you keep wandering for a little bit, you will come across a lot of cute local cafes, which I like to work in.

There are also lots of pubs because I live in England and the British people love their pubs.

And that's really nice for a lazy Sunday lunch.

And also, just on the doorstep of my house,

there is actually a huge park, one of the biggest in London,

which is really nice to take a stroll, to get away from the city and get some fresh air.

I've heard there is a pond in the park as well, which people like to swim in in the summer,

Recently I moved to a new neighborhood, and I'm still in the midst of discovering it further.

최근에 저는 새로운 동네로 이사 왔는데 아직도 더 많이 알아가는 중이에요.

   midst 대신 middle 을 써도 됨

It's quite a residential area and it's very quiet and peaceful, which I really like.

주로 주거 지역인데 아주 조용하고 평화로워서 정말 마음에 들어요.

And if you keep wandering for a little bit, you will come across a lot of cute local cafes, which I like to work in.

그리고 조금 더 걸어 다녀 보면, 작은 동네 커피숍들을 많이 볼 수 있고, 저는 거기에서 할 일을 하는 걸 좋아해요.

    커피숍에서 일했다  ;  I worked in a cafe, I worked from a cafe  둘 다 쓸 수 있지만 from이 혼동을 덜 준다

There are also lots of pubs because I live in England and the British people love their pubs.

그리고 펍(pub)도 많이 있는데, 저는 영국에 살고 있고 영국 사람들이 펍을 좋아하기 때문이에요.

 

And that's really nice for a lazy Sunday lunch.

there is actually a huge park, one of the biggest in London,

사실 아주 큰 공원이 있는데, 런던에서 제일 큰 공원 중 하나예요.

which is really nice to take a stroll, to get away from the city and get some fresh air.

산책하기 정말 좋고, 도시에서 벗어나서 신선한 공기를 마시기에 좋아요.

I've heard there is a pond in the park as well, which people like to swim in in the summer,

공원에 연못도 있다고 들었고, 사람들이 여름에 거기에서 수영을 즐긴다고 들었어요.

so I'm very excited to discover my neighborhood more during all seasons of the year.
