I travel home for vacations.

At this point in my life, vacation means getting to fly back to my hometown and being reunited with my friends and family.

English On The Go

When we think of vacation, I think a lot of us immediately think about travel.

It seems like the highlight of every year is when you go on vacation somewhere,

and it means that you will be traveling to a new country or a new city just simply for relaxation purposes.

This used to be how I used to spend all my summer vacations from school as well.

My family and I would always try to travel to either just the neighboring country or somewhere new

to highlight that “Okay, now we are free. We are on break, and it is vacation.”

However, I think my perception of vacation has now changed a little bit because I now study abroad,

which means I spend most of my year away from my hometown.

So now when I think of vacation, it just means, “Oh, I get to go back home.”

So I don't necessarily feel like I want to travel to new places whenever I have vacation.

I would rather just go home, spend time with family and friends, and see my loved ones.

And I think it has also changed their perception,

because vacation now to them means that I'm coming home and we get to all be together again.
