Unit 708 I like to plan some things but not everything.

I'm the kind of person who likes to plan certain things in advance but still doing some spontaneous things in my daily life.

English On The Go

I'm pretty sure there are three types of people in the world …

those who plan everything in advance as if their life depends on it,

those who don't plan anything ever and just go along with whatever life throws at them,

-------------

and then there are those who are somewhere in the middle, which is where I think I am.

I certainly love to plan some things, like vacations and holidays.

I usually buy my plane tickets, like, six months in advance

-------------

because that way, I get to look forward to something for half a year and the price ends up being cheaper.

So it's a win-win.

At the same time, I like to be spontaneous in my daily life and go on little adventures.

That way, I find amazing little cafes and shops and totally underrated galleries and museums and other attractions.

I totally recommend for you guys to just let your legs take you wherever they feel like it once in a while and be spontaneous.

  I'm pretty sure that ~ 으로 시작하면 농담인 경우가 많음 ..

마치 목숨이 거기 달려 있듯이 모든 걸 미리 계획하는 사람이 있고,

 

those who don't plan anything ever and just go along with whatever life throws at them,

아무것도 절대 계획하지 않고 그냥 일어나는 일에 맞춰서 대응하는 사람이 있고요.

  go along with (go with)  ;   거기에 맞춰가는걸 말함.    ~에 동의하다 찬성하다, 동조하다.

  whatever life throws at them  ;  삶이 그들에게 던지는게 뭐가 되었든지 간에 .. life를 마치 3의 존재인것처럼 묘사할 때가 많음.

그리고 그 중간 어딘가에 있는 사람들이 있는데, 제가 거기에 해당되는 것 같아요.

  get to  ;  어디에 도착하는 것도 get to 지만,  get to 동사 .. 형태로 '~할 기회가 있다'

At the same time, I like to be spontaneous in my daily life and go on little adventures.

그런데 또, 저는 일상 속에서 즉흥적으로 행동하고 작은 모험을 하는 걸 좋아해요.

  go on little adventures  ;  'go on an adventures'  세트로 기억해 주면 좋음.  모험을 한다라고 우리말로 하면 do가 올 것 같지만 항상 go on이 붙음.
