Unit 665. A hobby outside of work is important.

I believe it's so important to have hobbies outside of your work, just so you can have a different area to excel in.

English On The Go

Not everyone has a hobby, and it's not always easy finding a hobby that you enjoy.

But I think it's really important to make the effort to find a hobby

that's outside of whatever your career or your job is,

because people can get so caught up in their work

that if they find themselves with spare time, they suddenly don't know what to do because all they know is sort of work.

And so I think it's really important to find something to do outside of that,

even if it's something simple, like you like to do puzzles or, you know, you enjoy collecting something.

I think that's really good for your mental health, to have something else to focus on that's not just work.

And it also makes you an interesting person as well when you have more things to talk about.

You know, when you have a hobby, you tend to research that and really look into it.

So I think that makes it interesting for conversations,

when someone has something that they're really passionate about. I always love hearing stories like that.

And that's why I think it's so important to diversify your interests beyond your job.

그렇지만 저는 취미를 찾으려고 노력하는 건 정말 중요하다고 생각해요.

여유 시간이 생기면 갑자기 뭘 해야 할지를 모르게 돼요. 아는 게 일밖에 없으니까요.

그게 단순한 뭔가라고 하더라도 말이에요. 퍼즐을 푼다거나 뭔가를 수집하는 걸 좋아한다거나.

I think that's really good for your mental health, to have something else to focus on that's not just work.

정신 건강에 정말 좋은 것 같아요. 그냥 일이 아닌 다른 무언가 집중할 것이 있는 게 말이에요.

You know, when you have a hobby, you tend to research that and really look into it.

누군가가 정말 열정을 가진 뭔가가 있을 때 말이에요. 저는 그런 이야기를 듣는 걸 항상 좋아해요.
